Take An Adult Fishing Tournament Sauk City, Wisconsin 7-24-2010
Saturday, July 24 the Wilderness Fish and Game store in Sauk City, Wi. There were over 80 teams and 200 participants in this event where the goal is to get children and adults on the water together in the outdoors. Teams fished local waters for bass, panfish, walleye, trout, catfish, and roughfish. The top two heaviest fish in each category won a trophy and rod and reel. all participants received a cap from Don Becker Law Office and a "goodie" bag with equipment and gear from many generous companies. Despite inches of rain the night before and high water, the event went on and the skies cleared with no rain. A "fishers" prayer was given by Pastor Dwight Polfuss, the teams went to their favorite lake, fished, and were in for the 2:00 pm weigh-in. There were many species and numbers of fish caught!. Wisconsin DNR Secretary Matt Frank came for the weigh-in and spoke to the big crowd and helped with the award ceremony. Warden Greg Stacey was on hand with a invasive species exhibit and to talk to the crowd about the many threats we face in our lakes and rivers. Talk to all who came and participated and again a big thank you to those who made this possible. NPAA angler Robert Blosser, Joe Okada, Jim Kloth, Terry Frey, Wally Banfi, and Gary Engberg helped and made this event the huge success that it was! Thanks to Bob Lochner, Larry Wipperfurth, Wayne Whitemarsh, and Wally Banfi of the Wilderness Fish and Game store.
