CANCELED! Annual July 4th Event

Is this email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser. Sad to say, The Annual “Fire on the River” paddling/camping event has been canceled. 10 day forecasts have indicated that we might not have much for sandbars on July 1st. Even if the water level drops to half of what it is now; it will still be too high to have a safe/enjoyable outing. We could be wrong, but we don’t want people doing all the preparation required and then be disappointed. We WILL schedule some other activities as soon as we are certain of good conditions. Stay tuned! … Continue reading CANCELED! Annual July 4th Event

Re: Roost Count Results

Dear Jeb, For the Sugar Loaf Roost Count we recorded only 5 eagles in the roost: 3 adults and 2 immatures. We also saw 2 adults fly over. We started at 3:00 and ended at 5:00 pm (we would have gone to 5:15 but we had no sign of any eagles after 4:30 and with the 100% overcast it was quite dark by 5:00). We had a total of 5 counters: Tim Moermond, Donna and Bill Stehling, Gary Engberg, and Peter Schlicht. We assumed since the river had opened significantly in the last week that the eagles had spread out … Continue reading Re: Roost Count Results
