Target Walleye Media Hub for Walleye Anglers 11-19-2015 12-9-2015

Pillager, MN, — Less than a year ago, a few pioneers in the fishing industry decided walleye fishing and ice fishing needed “more love.” Al and Ron Lindner, Jim Kalkofen and Jay Kumar launched Target Walleye to create a North American media hub for walleye- and ice-fishing news, publicity and promotions. Such a platform had not existed for at least a decade. In the months following the launch of Target Walleye media – a daily email, website, and what are now the biggest walleye Facebook and Instagram pages – it became obvious that there’s been a pent-up thirst for … Continue reading Target Walleye Media Hub for Walleye Anglers 11-19-2015 12-9-2015

Giant 1400-Foot Aquaculture Ship to Raise Salmon Offshore of Norway 11-18-2015 12-9-2015

It could be the start of a sustainable revolution for the Norwegian salmon farming industry, following the design of an aquaculture ship that will move salmon farming further offshore where sea lice and waste build up will no longer be serious problems. In conjunction with Nordlaks, NSK Ship Design has designed the ship known as Havfarm (Ocean Farm), which measures 430 metres in length and 54 metres wide. The ship is designed to be anchored to the seafloor using the offshore industry’s technological solutions which can withstand very tough conditions at sea, including waves 10 metres high. Roost Count Results–15 Feb, 2015 2-23-2015

Roost Count Results Sunday, 15 February. 2015 Hello all you fine Roost Counters:   With Jeb still out-of-the country, the collection process for Sunday’s roost count was a trifle less efficient than usual.  Thanks for all your efforts:  40 volunteer hours were logged in temperatures that were hardly t-shirt weather.   Still, much easier counting than 2 weeks ago when we had to call off the count! All tallied, we had 69 eagles in the area roosts, scattered up and down the river (see Table 1 below for complete results).  Interestingly, the Lone Rock Roost, which usually has many eagles early in the … Continue reading Roost Count Results–15 Feb, 2015 2-23-2015
