Kentucky Saugeye

FRANKFORT, Ky. – With every passing season, anglers are building their knowledge base about how to catch saugeye stocked in a handful of central and northern Kentucky lakes. Saugeye display the faint saddle markings of a sauger and the white fin tips of a walleye. Unlike either, it features black smudges on its dorsal fin. Three lakes – 317-acre Guist Creek Lake in Shelby County, 148-acre Bullock Pen Lake … Continue reading Kentucky Saugeye

Lake of the Woods Fishing Report Sportsman’s Lodges Baudette, MN www.sportsmanslodges.com 800-862-8602 7/13/2017 Heating Up! Rolling into mid-July with water temps still hanging around that 70 degree mark, the walleyes are still hanging shallow. This means that drifting spinners and jigging are great way to target these walleyes! The spinner bite is rolling on and actually seeming to get better as we move through July. Hammered gold and white spinners tipped with a crawler seem to be producing the best. Concentrate … Continue reading Latest Fishing Report from Sportsman’s Lodges Lake of the Woods

It had been a fairly quiet day until Poshusta’s got a hit, and then “all you could hear was the buzz of the line, and everybody just jumped up and was running all over the place,” she said. “It was a big adrenaline rush for sure.” Poshusta said she … Continue reading Lunker Mille Lacs Muskie Almost One for the Books
