The Passing of a Great Man, Coach Jeff Sauer

https://youtu.be/xTamUyMu3Ds I was lucky enough to have played for and known Jeff for 50 years. A great man who cared about his players and let them be themselves. Besides being 7th in wins among college coaches, most wins at the UW, 2 NCAA Championships, 11 NCAA tourney appearances, and a coach for many USA hockey teams Jeff was a low key and classy man. After retiring Sauer won gold medals for the U.S.A. in sled hockey and with hearing impaired U.S.A. teams in world tournaments. You made a life long impression on many of those you coached. You left us … Continue reading The Passing of a Great Man, Coach Jeff Sauer

Taking Your Teen Out on the Hunt As a hunting enthusiast and parent, it’s your hope a love of hunting will be carried down to your offspring. Indeed, you hope your love of the outdoors, quiet hours of the early morning and skills needed to be a certifiable hunter will be passed down the family tree. Wisconsin has a deer population over one million deer with many of the deer bucks who shed their antlers every year beginning the end of January and continuing on till April.    Some years, a heavy snow cover and winters cold can prevent many people from getting outside, but it doesn’t … Continue reading Local Column River Currents by Gary A.
