You usually don’t have to housetrain senior dogs. They know when and where to go, and they have the patience to wait until it’s time to go outside.
Their energy level is easier to deal with than rambunctious, play-with-me-now-and-don’t-stop-playing puppies. Which gives you time to relax.

Senior dogs are predictable and settled down, so you don’t have to wonder about the mischief they may cause.
Your furniture, shoes, books, and other trinkets are-generally speaking-safe around a senior dog because he’s learned to keep his teeth and paws off them.
Many dog lovers believe that senior dogs make the most appreciative adopted dogs. People who adopt older dogs are often amazed at how grateful these dogs seem for having the opportunity to be part of a loving family.
