Action is expected very soon in the state Senate on an open-pit mining bill. Let be ready for it!
What’s Ahead for the Open-Pit Mining Bill?
The bill’s fate will be decided by members of the state Senate. At this point, we can’t be sure whether Senators will vote on the Assembly version of the bill (AB 426) or if they will be writing entirely new legislation. What we do know is that the time to act is now! We need your help to convince Senators to vote NO on the open-pit mining bill!
On February 16th, Wisconsin League of Conservation Voter invites you to join us for Conservation Lobby Day to Stop the Open-Pit Mining Bill. Conservation Lobby Days are what Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is all about. You can expect a day of great information from professional experts to prepare you for lobby meeting as well as thoughtful and impactful conversation with your elected leaders - this is what we do, and moments like these are when YOUR dedication to Wisconsin’s natural resources is most important!

Conservation Lobby Day is our chance to scrap this bill once and for all - and to remind our legislators that we expect them to stand up for the laws that protect our families. Risking exposure to toxic substance like lead, arsenic and mercury for the benefit of an out-of-state mining developer is not an option.
