Summer is Chock-Full of Free, Fun Events
At National Wildlife Refuges

Summer, glorious summer. The best way to savor it: outdoors in nature. National wildlife refuges offer the peace and seasonal beauty you’re seeking, plus a chance to see wildlife you don’t see every day.

Visit a refuge near you and explore your natural heritage. Join in a bird festival, butterfly count or other special event – or make your own anytime event by hiking a refuge trail or driving along a wildlife viewing route. Many refuges also make great destinations for activities such as fishing and paddling.

To locate a refuge near you, use the “find your refuge” tool.  Here are some upcoming refuge events.
