2013 promises to be a super-busy new year for HOW! Below are just a few of the upcoming events that help Heroes On The Water. Please make plans to attend, volunteer, sponsor, or support one… or all of them! These fundraisers help their local Heroes on the Water Chapters put more troops in seats!!
Are you going to be in or around Key Largo, Florida next month? You should swing by and check out the 2013 Captain Bad King Fling on February 2, 2013 (alternate bad-weather date February 9.) Benefiting Heroes On The Water and Operation Still Waters, this kingfish tournament promises good fun for all ages, a free SPF QuickDry t-shirt for all fishermen (and -women!), 25% discount for all active military and veterans, and more. Check out their Facebook Events page, too.
While you’re in Florida, you can also check out the Northeast Florida Chapter’s HOW kayak fishing event scheduled for February 10, 2013. The outing is slated to start at 7am EST and the place is Mill Cove, Lonnie Wurn Boat Ramp. See Northeast Florida’s Facebook page or shoot an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
“Nothing like a good old foot anchor to hold you in place.”
If you happen to be on the other side of the USA in February,
you can plan to attend Northern California HOW Chapter’s
kayak fishing outing scheduled for February 22, 2013 at
Quarry Lakes in Fremont, CA. Get in touch with Don Anglin, Chapter Coordinator at email@example.com or check
out NorCal Chapter’s Facebook page for more details.
We might be a little prejudiced, but down here in Texas, few things are better than Texas Country Music. On March 16, 2013, Texas Music Throwdown will happen in The Woodlands, Texas. Please plan to attend and enjoy music by Reckless Kelly, Scooter Brown Band, Josh Ward Band, Jesse Raub, Jr., and others. Go to Texas Music Throwdown for more information and to click and print your tickets today! All proceeds benefit Heroes On The Water.
For those that want to enjoy an extended kayak fishing experience, you’ll want to take a close look at the SMACK Tournament Series in Kentucky, beginning March 24, 2013, with one tournament scheduled each month through October. Entry fee is $10 per tournament, and $20 for the Classic to be held October 19-20. Proceeds will benefit Heroes On The Water. Click on their Facebook schedule for more information.
The Susquehanna Flats Kayak Fishing Jamboree takes place from April 18-21, 2013 at the Susquehanna State Park Campground in Havre de Grace, MD. Also benefiting Heroes On The Water, this event is being held for the second year thanks to our fantastic supporter Bob Miller. Thank you, Mr. Miller and all your helpers! Registration for the event also includes an Awards dinner on Saturday night, an event t-shirt and a sticker. Register early (by March 31) for best pricing.
