Outdoor Horizons Radio Tony and Gary Have Joe Bucher as their Guest 4-30-2011

The guest today on Outdoor Horizons Radio is Joe Bucher of “Fishing with Joe Bucher” who has hosted his highly rated multi-species fishing show for over 20 years. Joe has one of the most informative shows on television concentrating on not just muskies, but all fish species.
Joe is a member of the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a legendary angler and also the holder of 5 Line Class World Records for muskie, northern pike, brook trout,, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass. Be sure to listen to this series with one of fishing’s greats and a pretty good musician too. Joe’s show can be seen on the Sportmen Channel, Fox Sports North, and Charter Cable. Gary and Joe got together at the Madison Fishing Expo for this interview. Be sure to listen to Joe’s tips for early spring fishing and the tips he gives for what lakes to fish.
The weather has been dominating things and slowing down fishing for walleyes, saugers, and crappies. Remember to use a slow presentation when fishing in cold water and what we now need is stable and prolonged warm weather for a few days to warm water and get the fish moving into mud and dark bottom bays where the warmest water will be. Channel catfish and crappies have been biting off Governor Nelson State Park on the northshore of Lake Mendota. 
Turkey hunters are getting some toms, but again the weather has been hurting hunting. The toms are gobbling, so be patient and you’ll see your bird. The leaves and under-cover is going to start growing making visibility more difficult. Morels are not out yet. The next two turkey seasons should be good and maybe the best of the year.
