Sometimes there’s an unsightly background where you’re photographing or you might want to make your photos more natural. To do this, look through your camera and try placing something behind the feeder, approximately 6 to 8 feet away.Hummingbird Birds and Bloom Small

Try using branches with leaves on them or potted flowers. But make sure your background is far enough away so that it is out of focus and does not compete with the hummingbirds.

Or try this. I take a photo of some flowers, making them as out of focus as I can. Then I get the photo printed, and put it up a foot or so behind my hummingbird feeder, so it fills the frame behind the feeder. You may want to print several, depending on the size of your printer. It’s a great way to block out unwanted backgrounds.
