Shooting Sportsman Launches Online Companion
Rockport, ME - Shooting Sportsman, The Magazine of Wingshooting & Fine Guns, is proud to announce the debut of a new digital magazine, Sporting Shot.
Billed as “The Online Companion to Shooting Sportsman,” Sporting Shot is an Internet-only publication available free on the Shooting Sportsman Website: www.shootingsportsman.com. New issues will be published every two months and will contain articles on bird hunting, clay shooting and fine shotguns.“We are excited to be the first in our category with a unique digital magazine,” said Editor Ed Carroll. “The Internet offers opportunities not available with regular print publications, and we are taking full advantage by bringing stories to life through video, slideshows, interactive links and more. We also are encouraging readers to offer instant feedback and to contribute their own articles and photos. In this way we plan to build a community of loyal viewers who will help shape the digital magazine going forward.
“Using our 23 years’ experience producing the largest wingshooting magazine in the world, we look forward to working in this new format and delivering a quality, targeted publication. Bear in mind, this is not simply a digital version of Shooting Sportsman. Each issue will feature unique content available nowhere else. Sporting Shot is a completely independent publication that exists solely in digital format online.”
In addition to providing multimedia editorial, Sporting Shot will offer cutting-edge opportunities for Web-savvy advertisers. According to Associate Publisher Terry Bombeke: “An electronic magazine allows advertisers to develop relationships with customers like never before. Just imagine the possibilities, with video, slideshows, audio and more. And by offering direct-and measurable-response, Sporting Shot will maximize the overall effectiveness of any marketing effort.”
The Premiere Issue of Sporting Shot is sponsored by the Beretta Trident Program and is available online now. In addition to news, gear reports and recipes, it contains feature articles on engraver Phil Coggan, a customized A.H. Fox shotgun, ptarmigan hunting in Quebec and more. Readers can view the digital magazine by visiting www.shootingsportsman.com and clicking on the Sporting Shot link. They also will be able to sign up to receive e-mail notifications as each new issue is posted.
