Outdoor Horizons Radio with Guest Duffy Kopf 8-9-2010
gengberg August 9th, 2010
On this week’s show of Outdoor Horizons Radio, Tony, Wally, and Gary have Pure Fishing Ambassador Duffy Kopf on the show. Duffy was also the President of the Yahara Fishing Club, one of Wisconsin’s oldest fishing clubs.![]()
Tony has just returned from 3 weeks at Steve Herbeck’s Andy Myer’s Lodge on Canada’s Eagle Lake. Tony was a fishing instructor at the lodge and talked about the fantastic fishing that he encountered with walleyes, muskies, smallmouth, and lake trout. Tony said what a great lodge Steve runs and operates with son, Danny.
Wally talks about his recent guiding on the Madison Chain for smallmouth, walleyes, and bluegills. The group suggested that listeners refrain from muskie fishing till the local waters cool down with temperatures now over 80 degrees. Devils Lake is still producing good trout fishing and the word from Minocqua’s Russ Smith is that the muskies are active on topwater baits and also there are suspened fish in Vilas County.
The Wisconsin River is finally receding after nearly a month of high water and tough fishing conditions. Lake Wisconssin is also producing some fish despite a good algae bloom.
