This week on Outdoor Horizons Radio Wally Banfi, Tony Puccio, and Gary Engberg talk about last weeks inland lake opener and the best places and species to be fishing for these days. Crappies have been active on Lake Wisconsin and on Lake Waubesa. The up and down temperatures and high winds have kept many anglers off the water. The smallmouths are starting to make their beds on the Wisconsin River. Crystal Lake has been producing both crappies and bluegills, but again the winds have been tough.
Trout fishing has been very good in most of southwest Wisconsin with streams at a low level and pretty clean. The Pine River has been good according to some good friends. Fly fishermen and spinner anglers are both catching trout.
This week our interview is with Mike Neeley from Mercury Marine who explains to Wally and Terry Frey some of the new adjustments made on their tiller motors and other new happenings at Mercury.
The fourth turkey hunting priod is now over with 2 more to go. There have been some big turkeys brought into Wilderness Fish and Game, but overall numbers seem to be down and again the weather isn’t helping things!
