It’s Never Too Late To Become An Outdoors Woman
“I boast that it is possible to be a ‘girly girl’ and an outdoors woman at the same time….” writes Deborah Brosen in her article titled “It’s Never Too Late To Become An Outdoors Woman,” which will be one of the features in the May issue of Outdoors Magazine.
Brosen goes on to elaborate on the way that the outdoors “touches your soul,” and points out that in today’s society, outdoors women are not necessarily born into the role, but rather make it themselves.
“It is one of the best articles I have read on the topic,” said Outdoors Magazine editor Kyle Scanlon. “Deborah [Brosen] is new to writing, and really captures the topic in a fresh new way that is also inspirational. I think when the issue hits the market it will be a real eye-opener for a lot of people,” he said.
“Bronsen’s article is just one of many from a special section devoted to women in the outdoors that we have planned for that issue,” said Scanlon. “There is also a feature titled ‘What Women Want’ that takes a hard look at the gear available to women today and examines what works and what doesn’t. There are so many things out there that are made by small companies with little or no marketing budgets that would be a real plus to an outdoors woman if she knew how to get them … which is what we highlight in the article.”
The May issue of Outdoors Magazine is the third edition in the past 18 months that is shining a spotlight on women in the outdoors.
“They have been some of our most popular issues by far,” said James Austin, president of Elk Publishing. “On the newsstands, the issues set sales records for our company and the feedback was incredible, from both men and women,” he said.
