Multiple Records Set by 2010 USA Pond Hockey Championships in Eagle
River, WI. 
Several records were set by the 2010 USA Pond Hockey Championships,
held in Eagle River, WI. Feb 12 to 14, 2010:– 24 (!) hockey rinks were all laid out on frozen Dollar Lake, in Eagle
River, Wisconsin. (Four more rinks than in 2009).
– 224 hockey teams participated (28 more teams than in 2009).
– Hockey teams played 405 hockey games over a three day period.
– Players from 27 States participated.
Eagle River Chamber of Commerce, USA Hockey, and Labatt’s beer company
believe it is the largest event of its type in the nation.
The 2009 event in Eagle River, with 196 hockey teams participating, was
named the Best Amateur Sporting Event in the Nation by SportsTravel
Magazine. (This year there were four more rinks and 28 more teams)
