Big Stakes, Big Opposition, and One Last Big Push
,We knew the vote to override the Governor’s veto of the independent DNR Secretary bill would be historic. But big stakes bring out big opposition, and boy-oh-boy, are they out in force!
Problem:
With just days left to go before your state Representative will have a chance to override the Governor’s veto of the Independent DNR Secretary bill, Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and the Wisconsin Realtors Association have begun an aggressive push into legislators’ offices. While they can’t say their real objective (to maintain their influence over natural resource decisions), we have to make sure that legislators are not fooled by this “faux” grassroots effort.
To ensure a win on Tuesday, you need to call your legislator AGAIN (I know, I know. But just think how horrible you’d feel if we lost your legislator’s vote in these last few days after all the hard work you’ve already put in)!
Action Needed:
We need you to make ONE LAST PUSH for history.
1.Call your state Representative.
Ask them, “Will you vote to override the Governor’s veto of AB 138?” Don’t accept any excuses!! Their vote very well could be the one that determines whether Wisconsin will manage natural resources based on science or politics.

Ask your friends to make their call too. EVERY Representative needs to hear the message multiple times.

BE THERE on Tuesday, February 23rd. We need to PACK the Capitol with conservationists on the day of the vote. Overriding a Governor is serious business and your presence will demonstrate that we are taking it VERY seriously. Get more details here.

Contact Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. Let us know how the conversation with your Representative went. Your reports back have helped us guide this campaign every step of the way.
