This is a horrible, traumatizing announcement for the outdoor industry as we continue to roil and adjust to market realities. The last 2 years has been particularly tough for big ticket outdoor items such as boats and motors. We remember Mercury Marine’s downsizing last year.

The Brunswick Boat Group and Crestliner brands are some of the best boats out there, and their staff –rank and file workers to senior management are FIRST class.

I personally came to know the BBG and Crestliner brands BECAUSE this company stepped up as a major sponsor for the Lake Delton Fisheries Restoration Project, a project to restore neighboring Wisconsin’s 256-acre Lake Delton whose banks gave way and drained into the nearby river in June of 2008 in less than a few hours.

Of the many quality sponsors for the LDFRP, the Brunswick Boat Group and Crestliner sponsorship stood out in it size, scope and enthusiasm and we networked their donation with joint efforts from Leinenkugel Breweries of CHippewa Falls and C&H of Reedsburg, WI. This project has been successful, thanks in large part to the BBG and Crestliners involvement in the LDFRP.

We would like all readers to know just how great a company the Brunswick Boat Group, its Crestliner and other brands are, and especially that we do not forget our friends in the outdoors. We would urge all outdoorsmen and women to buy Crestliner and other branded product lines from the Brunswick Boat Group the next time you buy a boat or upgrade.

They supported ALL outdoorsman; NOW it is time to support them in solidarity. Plus, they have the highest quality boats for the money on the market. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in Little Falls as the downsizing takes shape. It will be back when the economy comes back.
