Weatherby Offers New Premium Ammo at Bargain Pricing
Weatherby’s® newest additions to its premium ammunition line feature the same precision components produced by Norma of Sweden, but at prices not seen for more than 25 years.
“We haven’t offered a box of Weatherby ammunition at such a low suggested retail price since 1982,” commented Brad Ruddell, Weatherby’s vice president of sales and marketing. “In a time when ammunition prices are high, we’ve been able to reduce costs by buying in quantity at the source, saving on freight and working with Norma of Sweden to take advantage of production efficiencies. As a result, our new premium ammunition retails for much less without sacrificing performance or quality. It has all the flat-shooting, hard-hitting, tack-driving accuracy that is synonymous with the Weatherby name.”
Loaded to the company’s exact specifications, the new premium ammunition is available in two popular Weatherby calibers, .257 Weatherby Mag. and .300 Weatherby Mag. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for both is just $39.
The brass, primer, powder and spitzer bullets are all made by Norma of Sweden, a company renowned for the high quality of its products. Weatherby chose two of the most popular bullet weights for its new ammunition. The .257 Weatherby Mag. ammo is loaded with a 100-grain spitzer, while the .300 Weatherby Mag is loaded with a 180-grain spitzer. With 60 percent weight retention, the bullets are suited to a wide range of hunting applications.
The Norma Precision Brass comes with CNC-machined primer pockets produced to match-grade specifications. Specially-designed primers provide positive ignition of the large powder charges within the Weatherby Magnum rounds. The ammunition is loaded with Norma High-Grade Premium Powder for maximum velocity and energy, and has a double radius Venturi shoulder design that increases the velocity of escaping gases without increasing the pressure within the cartridge. This results in higher velocity within standard pressure ranges.
