Gary’s Blog There’s Still Many Eagles for Viewing 1-18-10

In my previous Blog written Sunday, I told you about the great success over the weekend at Sauk Prairie’s 23rd Annual Bald Eagle Watching Days held Saturday, January 16th. I mentioned that there were enough eagles to keep people happy and have a chance to see these beautiful birds.
Today after I got done writing my weeekly column, River Currents, I took a drive into Sauk Prairie and was amazed at the large number of cars parked along Water Street looking at Eagle Island.
People still haven’t learned to stay in their cars to view eagles and help them conserve energy by not flushing them off their roosts. But, people always think that they can get a better view. The eagles (7 of them) were not fazed and stayed on the island in the warming sun.
I took a few photos for you to see and remind you that it still is a good time for eagle viewing. There also is a good conccentration of eagles in Baraboo on the Baraboo River. It is well worth the drive.
