Message from Timm Zumm:Dear friends,
Thanks to you, the “Year of the Riverway” has been a fantastic experience. In addition to celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Riverway being formed, we celebrated ten years of FLOW being reactivated.
Initially, I foolishly thought we would just do a couple River Cleanups and then live happily ever after. However, there is larger need for our services today than ever before.
After tens years of being a very effective group of friends, FLOW is becoming a formal non-profit entity. The sad part to me about this is we now need to constantly seek funding. We have already succeeded in qualifying as a River Management Organization and have received a grant from the DNR to help us get started.
We will have our first annual membership meeting in late January. (Details coming soon) Please give thought to how you would like to be involved in the organization and let us know. This is truly a ground floor opportunity for you to help shape our new entity!
If you’re anything like me, you are receiving year end requests for support from all the organizations you belong to. I personally hate asking people for money, but I’d like you to consider helping FLOW right now. Any amount is welcome. You can send a check today dated 2009 for the tax deduction if that is best for you.
I’m not as polished as other non-profits when asking for support. Therefore please forgive me for being blunt when I ask:
