Outdoor Horizons Radio 12-26-09 with DNR Fisheries Expert Scott Harpold

gengberg December 26th, 2009

This show has all three hosts together for the Holidays. Wally, Tony, and Gary talk about what else but ice fishing.Outdoor horizons Guys Small Wally has been out with the large group of anglers on Madison’s Triangle area and Monona Bay and did well. I don’t know how much longer people an keep catching bluegills??? There must be a tremendous number of fish for so many anglers to keep bringing some home. Let those 5 to 7 inch fish go and you don’t always have to keep your 25 fish. Take home enough for a meal or two, but you don’t have to feed the neighborhood.

There also is a 7 minute interview with DNR Fish Technician, Scott Harpold, who discusses the Comprehensive Studies done every year on the Madison Chain of Lakes. Every year, one of the Chain Lakes is studied intensely with spring fyke netting and shocking later in the year. Muskie Harpold KegonsaScott also does much of the muskie work on the area lakes. This is the guy who knows what’s happening on our lakes and waters.

Be sure to check out the Outdoor Horizons Radio booth at the Madison Fishing Expo.
