Today Was the Last Day of Inland Trout Fishing 9-30-09

Today was the last day of the inland trout season in Wisconsin. I was lucky enough to be asked to fish some of the streams of Vernon and Crawford County with friend and trout expert Len Harris. Len knows the streams of the “Driftless Area” as well as anyone. Len knows how to catch big trout whether with a spinning rod or a fly rod.
Musician Catfish Stephenson and friend Quilla Pine joined me on this beautiful day. We used spinning rods today mainly because we fished some very small streams where your casts were short and the stream-side vegetation was thick to say the least! The streams of southwest Wisconsin seem healthy and the trout were abundant.
We caught some beautifully colored brook and brown trout in this magnificent part of Wisconsin.
Quilla caught the most trout with 8 and Len showed us where to fish with his uncanny knowledge of these trout streams. If you follow Len’s advice you’ll catch trout and big trout.
I’ve included some photos from today under my Picture Section and Trout Fishing with Len. Be sure to check his bog at “The Stream of Time” and on this website.
