Lots and lots of Northern Pike being caught right now especially on suckers. Several have come in with spoons, but if you have suckers you can really bring them in.
Several have been over 30 inches in length. Many bluegills swimming around the barge right now too. They seem to be coming in and out, being chased around by the northern. Still getting some nice bass and a few walleye and sauger around. The sauger have been small and the walleye too large to keep.
Not too many walleye right now. They are still hitting hair jigs tipped with minnows. If you are fishing for bluegills, use worms on the bottom. Probably a dozen mudcat caught today on hair jigs. Nice to see them moving in. I am sure they too are chasing around the bluegills in the deeper water. Of course, plenty of sheephead to catch too.
