Thanksgiving on the Hudson

We hope every fellow American has enjoyed a great Thanksgiving national holiday, and we wish the warmest sentiments of the season to all our readers across the USA, Canada, Mexico and every country and continent, from your friends at Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits.

This week’s story’s about some pretty frosty fishing I just did in 34-35 degree water. That’s a couple degrees shy of being solid ice, but the fishing was pretty good! The story takes place on the mighty Hudson River, and as we looked out at the majestic Catskill Mountains in the heart of New York’s ski country, there was snow about half way down the slopes. It was freezing out there, yet we proved that fish will remain active even in the coldest climes. Much of the information conveyed here about the tackle and techniques can be put to use in other similar winter fishing situations and locations - especially where bigger rivers are involved.

So bundle up in layers of your warmest duds and join us on a nippy holiday trip! Please enjoy reading::
