SUBJECT: Department of Natural Resources rejects changes weakening new Mercury pollution reducing rule

MADISON - Department of Natural Resources Secretary Matt Frank today sent a letter to Assembly and Senate legislative committee chairs rejecting further changes to the rule developed to meet Governor Doyle’s directive for a 90 percent reduction in mercury emissions to the environment. The rule now goes to the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Review of Administrative Rules.
