The snow has kept piling up and the temperatures are normal for this time of year, so many of you are still outdoors small game hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and bird watching.
The days and nights have been cold enough to form a decent layer of ice for the local ice anglers. Most area lakes, ponds, sloughs, and backwaters are frozen. Mobility is difficult in the deep and crusted snow, if you don’t have an ATV to take you to your fishing location. The light snow on top is fine for walking, but underneath the snow is a layer of ice that makes moving a chore! It’s hard to stay on top of the snow without falling through, even if you use snowshoes. Continue Reading »
