Living in Wisconsin, many of us take for granted the many lakes, rivers, streams, and creeks that we are blessed with. Minnesota proclaims itself “the land of 10,000 lakes”, but Wisconsin has more lakes than it’s neighbor. Year-round, many of our outdoor activities are centered on water be it liquid or frozen. The state of Wisconsin sells over 1 million fishing licenses each year. There are over 500,000 boats registered in this state which is seventh in the United States. Fishing is a sport that brings in big time dollars to our state each and every year. Thousands of out of state residents come to Wisconsin to enjoy the good fishing we have in most of our waters. If you don’t fish or your children don’t fish you have a chance next weekend to fish for free. There’s a Kid’s Fishing Day in Madison at the Alliant Center.
